Road Trip to the Churchill Cup

We are organizing a group trip up to Chicago the weekend of June 21, 2008 to watch the United States Eagles play in the Churchill Cup finals. We have asked the Blues to come along as well as asking some of the St. Louis Teams (men and women) to come with us.

As airline prices continue to go up, the plan is to charter a coach bus from Kansas City to Chicago, leaving here on Friday afternoon (3pm) and returning on Sunday afternoon.

Depending on the level of committed interest, the cost of the entire weekend could be under $200 (bus, hotel, tickets to Saturday's 3 games). That is if we get more than 30 or 40 people to go - we get discounts on hotel, game tickets, and will save money on cabs because the bus will take us everywhere.

I need to know if anyone is interested in making this trip (which would include a required $100 deposit due May 21st as the bus costs are going to be at or above $3,400). Please RSVP initially to me, Sara Woods woods_sara@hotmail.com, as soon as possible. I will remind you of the deposit as we approach May 21st.

Friends and family are more than welcome to join as well, although space on the bus will be somewhat limited. I will send out the bus costs at various seat levels shortly.

The Churchill Cup is the largest International 15s tournament in North America, and this year's participating teams include England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and Argentina, along with the USA.  The Chicago leg of the tournament will serve as the finals for the bowl, cup, and plate, and will feature 3 International matches at Toyota Park on the 21st (11:30am, 2:00pm, 4:30pm).

Tentative itinerary:

6/20

3pm: Depart KC

12am: Arrive in Chicago, hotel check-in and bus takes us to pub crawl

6/21

10am: Depart hotel for Toyota Park tailgate (kick-off for first match starts at 11:30am)

7pm: Bus drops us off at destination bar area

6/22

9am: Depart Chicago

5pm: Arrive in KC

Details on the entire event can be found at www.barclayschurchillcuprugby.com

Please let me know ASAP your interest in going - as we approach May 21st, I will remind you of the $100 deposit to secure your seats. Right now, just need a tentative head count.

Thanks!
